In plain words
- Use the cursors you make with Cursor Rig Studio in anything you create — personal or commercial, as many projects as you like, no credit or royalties owed.
- Share freely: your presets with anyone, and the rigs you make with your team, clients and collaborators. The people you share rigs with don’t need a license of their own to use them.
- Don’t sell the software, the rigs, the icons or the presets, or package the rigs or icons into products or public downloads, without written permission from Breece Waffles LLC.
- One license is for one person using Cursor Rig Studio, on up to three of their computers.
This summary is here to help; the terms below are what apply.
This license is an agreement between you and Breece Waffles LLC (“we,” “us”). It covers Cursor Rig Studio, the After Effects extension; the Basic Cursor Rig; the cursor rigs, icons and presets they include or produce; and any updates (together, the “Software”). By installing or using the Software you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
1Your license#
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to install and use the Software, subject to these terms. One license is for one person using Cursor Rig Studio. You may activate it on up to three computers that you own or control. If several people on a team use Cursor Rig Studio itself, each needs a license; people who only use the rigs made with it do not.
2What you may do#
- Create cursor rigs and icons with the Software, and customize, recolor, animate and modify them for your projects.
- Use them — and the videos, images and animations you make with them — in any number of personal and commercial projects: client work, videos, ads, tutorials, courses, apps, websites, social media, broadcast and film. No attribution or royalties are required.
- Sell and distribute finished work in which the cursors appear as part of your video, image or animation.
- Share the rigs you make with your teammates, colleagues, clients and collaborators, for use in their projects — for example, building rigs for your whole studio. They don’t need a license of their own to use a rig; only people who run Cursor Rig Studio do.
- Share your presets — rig presets and icon presets — with anyone: teammates, friends, online communities. We encourage it.
3What you may not do#
Without explicit written permission from Breece Waffles LLC, you may not:
- Sell, resell, sublicense, rent or lend the Software, or give away copies of Cursor Rig Studio itself.
- Sell rigs, icons, icon artwork or presets, on their own or as part of a product.
- Publish rigs, icons or icon artwork as a public download, or bundle them — in any form someone else could reuse — into a product you distribute, paid or free: templates, asset or element packs, UI kits, plugins, scripts, extensions, stock marketplaces, or course materials. (Sharing presets is welcome; see above.)
- Share your license key, or use one license on more than three computers or for more than one person.
- Remove copyright or license notices; reverse engineer the Software except where the law allows it; or bypass or disable its license check.
- Use the icons as, or as part of, a trademark or logo.
4Ownership#
The Software, the rigs, the icons and their artwork are owned by Breece Waffles LLC and protected by copyright and other laws. You receive a license, not ownership. The projects, videos and other work you create with the Software belong to you.
5Early access (beta)#
During the beta, the Software is still being finished: features may change, and presets saved during the beta may not open in later versions. From the first public release on, we will make reasonable efforts to keep presets opening in later versions, but cannot guarantee it. A license bought during the beta includes free updates through version 1.0 and every 1.x release after it (1.1, 1.2 and so on). A future Cursor Rig Studio 2.0 may be offered with its own pricing, to be decided when it comes.
6Supporter Edition#
Some features, such as foils and shimmer on preset cards, are reserved for holders of a Supporter Edition license or Supporter Upgrade. Anyone may open, view and use presets that carry those features.
7License keys and the online check#
The Software checks your license key with our store, Gumroad, when you activate it and from time to time afterward (about once every 30 days). Only the key is sent. Being offline does not stop the Software from working. A purchase that is refunded or charged back ends its license.
8Ending this license#
This license ends automatically if you break these terms. When it ends, you must stop using the Software and delete your copies. Finished work you made while following these terms stays yours to use.
9No warranty#
The Software is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Save your After Effects projects before exporting rigs into them.
10Limitation of liability#
To the fullest extent the law allows, Breece Waffles LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or work, arising from the Software or this license. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
11General#
This license is the entire agreement between you and us about the Software. It is governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Breece Waffles LLC is organized — currently Colorado. If a part of it cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may publish new versions of these terms; a new version applies to updates released under it. Adobe and After Effects are trademarks of Adobe Inc.; Cursor Rig Studio is not made or endorsed by Adobe.
